Life Is A Lesson
If there's one thing that my terrible lifetime habit of self sabotage has taught me, it's this: You will fail a lot in life. You will fail because you tried too hard or didn't try enough. You will fail because you didn't trust your instincts or because you didn't listen to the good advice your best friend gave you. You will fail because it was too hard and you gave up instead of seeing it through. You will fail because someone told you that you'd fail and you believed them. You will fail over and over and over again for different reasons but find comfort in knowing that some of the best lessons in life come from our biggest mistakes. If you're failing, you're learning.
My next song, Life Is A Lesson comes out July 18th and I'm beyond excited to share it. Thanks to Matt Kruft for producing and arranging this with me, to Jason Hamilton of Lambert Drive Studios for mixing and mastering it with such care, and Brayden Turner for lending your drumming talents to yet another one of my tunes. This one in particular was written more like a diary entry and it was such a frenzied last minute submission to the project, so I appreciate that you all believed in it enough to help bring it to life in a musical form.
I hope it resonates with those out there who've felt like a failure at some point (or many points) in their life and that it reminds you to give yourself some grace. You're doing your best and sometimes that looks messy and chaotic. Take what good you can from the chaos, apply it to your next steps, and keep moving forward.
